About Cathy & Dan
After more than 40 years in the corporate business world, Cathy in banking and investments and her husband, Dan, in NYC construction sales, we asked ourselves what do we do now? Calling on our love to travel, exploring new places and meeting new people and especially after fifty plus trips to Italy, we decided to form Marucci Travel, a home-based, independent travel agency located in Nutley, New Jersey. I have since earned the CTA (Certified Travel Associate) certification from The Travel Institute in Framingham, MA with an advanced certification as an Italy Destination Specialist and VCTA (Virtuoso® Certified Travel Associate) candidate graduating May 2021.
From the very first time we visited Italy on a tour of Rome, Florence and Venice, Italy has become a part of us. Since that very first visit in 1997 to our most recent trip to Trieste, Venice, Corvara in the Dolomites and San Remo on the Ligurian Coast in 2025, Italy has been the main focus of our travels. Fifty plus times we have crossed the Atlantic to visit the home of our ancestors and have loved every visit.
What draws us back? How about the truffles from Alba, the Chianti wines from Tuscany, cacio and pepe, Rome’s famous pasta dish, and the cannoli from Palermo. Views like no other in the world as overlooking the Amalfi Coast from the mountain-top town of Rapallo, the Alps from Lake Como, the ruins in Agrigento, the rows of ancient olive trees driving through Puglia and the endless cypress trees from Tuscany. What of the people? Friendly, warm, kind, and affable define the Italian people.
Mostly what we love about Italy is the feeling we get from going there and from reliving our trips after returning home. This is our “WHY”, the reason for bringing our joy in travel to you.
While Italy is our most popular destination and our specialty, we will create that same feeling for our clients no matter where in the world they want to travel. Want to go on a safari in Africa? Cathy and Danato were extremely helpful and knowlegable. We were in Italy for 2 weeks and they had everything organized for us, including dinner reservations in each city that we were in. There is no way we could have done everything we did without their assistance and expertise. If you are palnning any trip regardless of where you are going and how long you will be gone, DON'T do it without their help. Your experience will be greatly enhanced. Also, there is virtually no fear of the unknown. They have it all covered for you.
